Charlotte Walker-Said is an African historian by training. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York (CUNY). She is completing a manuscript on the legal and religious history of marriage in Cameroon. Her research focuses on gender, religion, governance, and human rights in West and Equatorial Africa. She received her doctoral degree in December 2009 from the Department of History at Yale University and has taught at Harvard University and Webster University. Along with John Kelly, she is editing a volume on corporate social responsibility and human rights that emerged from a University of Chicago Human Rights Program conference series.
