Tara Zahra

History

Tara Zahra is Hanna Holborn Gray Professor of East European History and the College and Roman Family Director of the Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society. 

Professor Zahra’s research focuses on European international history and human rights, particularly histories of migration, the family, gender, and sexuality.

She is the author of Against the World: Anti-Globalism and Mass Politics Between the World Wars; with Leora Auslander, Objects of War: The Material Culture of Conflict and Displacement; and The Great Departure: Mass Migration from Eastern Europe and the Making of the Free World. 

Her latest book, Against the World: Anti-Globalism and Mass Politics Between the World Wars will be published by W.W. Norton Press in 2023.
