Emilio Kouri

Emilio Kouri is Professor and Chair in the Department of History, and the College, and Director, Katz Center for Mexican Studies.

Professor Kouri’s research focuses on Modern Mexico; social and economic history of Latin America; agrarian studies; the history of ideas; Cuba and the Spanish Caribbean; and US Latino history. He is the author of Claroscuros de la reforma agraria mexicana (Revista NEXOS, 2010) and A Pueblo Divided: Business, Property, and Community in Papantla, Mexico (Stanford University Press, 2004), among others.
