The Department of Philosophy invites you to join Professors Anton Ford, Tyler Zimmer, and Ben Laurence for a conversation about the urban uprisings against racism and police repression.
Among other things, we hope to discuss questions such as the following:
What is racism and what would it take to overcome it?
How does policing contribute to black oppression?
What role can protest and dissent play in overcoming racism?
What are our responsibilities to protest and how far can we go?
How is the University of Chicago implicated in the problem of policing and racial injustice, and what can we do as a university community to help?
