The Human Rights Spring Study Abroad program in Paris is a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of human rights and the city's rich history and culture.

In addition to classroom instruction, the program features excursions to historically and culturally significant sites in and around Paris.

Courses

  • Students complete three core courses in human rights taught in English by University of Chicago faculty.
  • Students also take a French language course to help them connect with French (and Parisian) culture.
  • For human rights majors, these courses can be used to satisfy one foundational course requirement (Hum or Soc), and elective requirements in any stream.
  • For human rights minors these courses satisfy the introductory course requirement and elective requirements.

Eligibility

The Human Rights Spring Study Abroad program is open to all undergraduate students at the University of Chicago.
