Suketu Mehta is a New York-based author whose work has been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Harper’s, Time, Newsweek, and The New York Review of Books. His talk will address the importance of storytelling for immigration politics, drawing on his 2019 book, This Land is Our Land: An Immigrants’ Rights Manifesto, which Salman Rushdie describes as “a brilliant and urgently necessary book, eloquently making the case against bigotry and for all of us migrants—what we are not, who we are, and why we deserve to be welcomed, not feared.”
