Alex S. Vitale is Professor of Sociology and Coordinator of the Policing and Social Justice Project at Brooklyn College. His latest book is The End of Policing (Verso). Besides academic outlets, his writings have been published in The New York Times, Washington Post, The Guardian, The Nation, Vice News, Fortune, and USA Today. He has also appeared on CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, NPR, PBS, Democracy Now, and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. He has spent the last 30 years writing about policing and consults both police departments and human rights organizations internationally.
Alice Kim is Director of Human Rights Practice at the Pozen Family Center for Human Rights at the University of Chicago. Kim writes, teaches, and organizes around access to education for people who are incarcerated, capital punishment, police torture, and the prison system. She teaches at a maximum-security prison, leads the Prison + Neighborhood Arts Project’s community-building efforts, and is a co-founder of the Chicago Torture Justice Memorials (CTJM).
