Mass Incarceration Working Group (MIWG) Student Leadership Mini Grants
About
University of Chicago students are eligible to apply for up to $500 in funding from the Human Rights Lab for student-led events or projects exploring the crisis of incarceration and criminalization.
For events, the MIWG can offer the following:
- Funding support ranging from $500-$1000
- Webinar license if needed
- Promotional support through our newsletters, website, and social media platforms
- RSVP tracking
- Virtual logistical support on the day of the event depending on staff availability
Students will coordinate all other apsects of MIWG funded events including the following:
- Making arrangements with speakers and/or moderators
- Permissions for recording events
- Scheduling time and day of events
- Developing/coordining the run of show (or agenda) for the event
- Making an e-flyer and other promotional materials
