Alejandra Ancheita is a human rights lawyer, founder of ProDESC (Project of Economical, Social and Cultural Rights), and the recipient of the 2014 Martin Ennals Award (the Nobel Prize for human rights). Ancheita is best known for her efforts to defend the rights of workers, indigenous communities, and migrants in Mexico, often facing large multinational companies. Through ProDESC, Ancheita has helped miners in Mexico's state of Guerrero to bargain a collective contract that is now one of the most progressive in Mexico's mining industry. Read Alejandra's full biography here.
