The Human Rights Program will award an annual Pozen Human Rights Dissertation Completion Fellowship for the first time for the 2014-2015 academic year.
University of Chicago doctoral students in the Humanities or Social Sciences who have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. except the dissertation, including formal admission to candidacy, and expect to complete all field work by September, 2014 are eligible to apply. The fellowship provides a stipend ($23,000), tuition, and University student health insurance (basic option). Recipients of the fellowship are expected to participate in the intellectual life of the Human Rights Program.
The Human Rights Program provides substantial intellectual and financial support to doctoral candidates in the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Chicago engaged in the study of human rights through pre-dissertation and dissertation research grants, dissertation completion fellowship, teaching opportunities, internships, the Human Rights Workshop and a new Graduate Certificate in Human Rights Studies. This fellowship is supported by the generosity of our donors Richard & Ann Pozen.
