Tara Zahra

Tara Zahra is Homer J. Livingston Professor of East European History and the College, and serves as co-chair of the Pozen Center Faculty Board. Professor Zahra’s research focuses on European international history and human rights, particularly histories of migration, the family, gender, and sexuality.

She is the author of the The Great Departure: Mass Migration from Eastern Europe and the Making of the Free World (Norton, 2016); The Lost Children: Reconstructing Europe’s Families after World War II (Harvard University Press, 2011); and Kidnapped Souls: National Indifference and the Battle for Children in the Bohemian Lands, 1900-1948 (Cornell University Press, 2008).
